## About this lecture

In this module, Polisena makes the case for the creation of a global pact to govern emerging technologies, especially AI and data based systems. Highlighting the value of lived experience in research, she points to the need for stronger governance measures around AI technologies that account for their impacts on humanity and the environment. Later in the lecture, Polisena explores how a global pact might transform society to mitigate some of the negative impacts of technology we are seeing today.
