## About this lecture

How do we govern the emergence of new technologies in Industry 4.0, specifically the rapid development of artificial intelligence in the past 20 years? In this module, I discuss the legal and regulatory aspects of AI from a global perspective. With the use of recent examples of new regulations on AI-based technologies, I will explain some of the approaches and challenges when it comes to regulating AI. I close with a brief overview of the state of global regulation at present and make the case for the adoption of international regulatory standards when it comes to governing AI.
